September
Once again there was a great turn out for the meeting (twelve people) and lots of new faces. I forgot my camera for this meeting so there are no new pics to upload. We started the evening off with My Little Grass Shack, which is the most advanced song we have done so far and I was really excited when we did it and it sounded great. It sounded so good and it was so much fun to play that we played it several times that evening. My daughter loved it so much that she asked us to play it again so that she could do a little hula dance along with it. Thank you Ted for leading us on that one - that flea sounded great - if you have anymore Johnny Noble tunes you'd like to bring next time that would be great! Sherry and Richard came all the way from Lebanon for the meeting! This was also their first meeting as well. Thanks for making that drive, it was great to have you all there. And there were two late-comers whose names I have forgotten and I must apologize again for not pulling you into the fray once you were there - I just assumed that you all were at Z's just to eat, next time I will assume that anyone walking in there on a Monday night is there for our meeting. And Jack was also a new face who showed up later in the evening with his giant ukulele (an acoustic bass), he didn't plunk on it but I hope he and his giant ukulele come back for the next meeting. I gave away the last of my MidWest UkeFest stickers so I will keep my eyes open for more uke related stickers and other giveaway type items for future meetings. Thanks to everyone who came out, I really look forward to these uke meetings and if you couldn't make it to this one we would love to see you at the next one on October 16th. And a huge thank you to Zipporah for letting up have our meetings at her deli and for putting out complimentary coffee and tea for us. See you next month.
