June

Last nights meeting was a lot of fun, we met outside on the patio at Caffeine and learned to play The Flintstones theme song and Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da by the Beatles. I think we attracted some attention as we were quite visible and the street was fairly busy with the Happy Hour drinking crowd - also it is kind of hard to ignore five uke players laughing and talking and strumming along to the Flintstones theme song. I think everyone learned a little something last night - Andy E. learned the difference between open and closed chords, we'll see if he still remembers that lesson at the next meeting. :) and I briefly discussed the origins of the ukulele. We also discussed the possibility of having a future meeting at Andy and Mary's house, maybe meeting at Bongo Java in East Nashville (if they say it's OK), or some other East Nashville eatery (and I would be happy to host a meeting at my house as well). For now meetings will continue to be at Caffeine, but if anything changes I will send you all an update.

I would like to thank Andy & Mary E., Franko, Wendy, Anako, and VeeVee for coming out last night (my apologies for misspelled names) - it was great to meet you all. And thanks to the owners of Caffeine (Shawna and Ralph) for letting us have our meetings there.

If you've been thinking about coming but you keep talking yourself out of it - stop listening to that voice in your head!! Come out to the next meeting. Musical ability is not a requirement. Heck, you don't even have to own an ukulele. I had an extra and I should have an extra extra for the next meeting.

See you in July
