July
It was a little wet but we decided to sit outside on the patio anyway. The folks at Caffeine were nice enough to come out and wipe off the table and chairs for us. Andy and Mary came back again and we had two new members show up tonight, Jill M. and Jon W. (Jon is in a band called The Watermelons). We worked hard on mastering our C, F and G7 chords a'la Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and we hammered out a darn good version of Clementine. I think we drove some non-uke people back inside, they just couldn't appreciate our fine harmonies and re entrant tunings.I think tonight was the last time we will meet at Caffeine since most of the folks who have been coming to the meetings live on the East side of the river (myself included), and it is a little hard to compete with the cacophony of noise of Caffeine and the busy street outside - I don't know where we will be meeting next but as soon as I know I'll let you all know. I am waiting to hear back from the Bongo Java people - when I have driven by there on a Monday night they are usually pretty empty. We'll see. I'm open to meeting at my house and Andy and Mary have offered their house as a meeting place as well. Jon W. has a connection with the owners of Top O' Woodland B&B and we could possibly meet there.Don't worry, we'll have somewhere to meet.I unveiled the ukulele I built under the guidance of luthier Geoff Davis of Hoosier Maid Ukulele Works in Noblesville, Indiana. I spent the first week in July with Geoff in his workshop in Indiana. It was a lot of fun and you can see some pictures of the process HERE. Next meeting is scheduled for August 21st. Hope to see everyone there.
