How To Tune A Ukulele

How to Tune a Ukulele
The easiest way to tune your ukulele is to use an electric tuner, but if you do not have one you can tune your uke to itself. However, I would strongly suggest using a pitch pipe or a tuning fork to help you find the correct pitch for the G string - once you have this string tuned you can tune the others off of it. If you have access to a piano, you can tune your G string to the G above middle C.
First - tune your G string to pitch Second - hold down the G string on the fifth fret, pluck it and the C string below at the same time. Adjust the C string until it matches the pitch of the fretted G string. Third - Hold down the C string on the fourth fret, pluck it and the E string at the same time. Adjust the E string until it matches the pitch of the fretted C string. Fourth - Hold down the E string on the fifth fret, pluck it and the A string at the same time. Adjust the A string until it matches the pitch of the fretted E string. Now, have fun strumming your favorite tunes on your ukulele!!
